Mrs. Hamrick

Hi parents!  I am so excited to be your child's first grade teacher.  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better and having a fabulous year.

I attended the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) in Orlando, Florida.  I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I taught in Florida for eight years before moving to Atlanta with my husband, Alex,  in 2012.  I also taught for four years in Marietta City.  I am so happy to now be teaching in the same district that I live in.  This is my fourth year at Teasley Elementary and I am loving every minute!

I am a football junkie.  My favorite teams are The Miami Dolphins and UCF Knights.  My spare time is spent watching my favorite teams and spending time with my husband and two feisty daughters.  Leah is 6 years old and Charlotte is 4 years old.  They definitely keep us on our toes!  We also enjoy traveling.  We love a good adventure!  Oh the places you'll go!

The reason I love teaching first grade so much is seeing how much growth each student achieves.  I love to see a child's eyes light up when they learn a new strategy or figure out a challenging problem.  Confucius said, "choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."  This couldn't be more true in my life.  I can't wait to get this school year started!
